This year (and last year) I helped Stacey coach Ashtyn's PeeWee softball team along with Brandon, My dad and Cindy Mattice (And Dustin when he could come. We had quite the coaching staff) Last week was our tournament and of course we came out Champs (Seriously, would my team have it any other way? haha. just kidding!) Anyways, it's a lot of fun coaching these little girls. They are almost always (sometimes they get a little attitude) eager to do whatever you tell them and it's fun to see them improve and be excited about it. We had one girl who'd never played so it was fun to see her hit in the last game...even though she wasn't fast enough to make it to first. I think half the reason for that was she was so shocked she hit it it took awhile to realize she had to run. She was really excited. It's definitely a lesson in patience though! For some reason the age of 7-10 yr olds really really LOVE to draw things in the dirt with their feet. I'm not sure what the appeal there is...but I know I used to love it too. Anyways, I think after 2 years it's the end of the coaching road for me. Too much unnecessary stress!
